Our 11th Anniversary

by Louise on 24 May, 2008

It is our 11th Anniversary tomorrow!
We were married on Sunday 25th May 1997 at the Manukau Central Bible Fellowship Church which was located in a Girl Guide Hall.  We were married by Peter Reynolds after the regular church service and the church had put on a shared lunch for us.  Afterwards we went and moved in to the little flat at the deHeer’s property in rural Papakura.

I remember when we had been married for about 3 years and a friend was about to celebrate her 11th anniversary.  I asked her what it was like having been married for 11 years as I could not imagine being married for that long!

It doesn’t seem like a very long time now (we must be getting old)!!

I’ll have to see if I can scan or take a photo of our album page – we only have photos on the computer from 2003 onwards.

We would love to go out but we didn’t know who we could ask to babysit now that we’ve got 5 children who are all terrible at going to bed and to sleep.  So we’ve given up on the going out idea.  Kris made a nice Thai curry for dinner and if our children ever go to sleep maybe we will watch a video.

Congratulations! I remember that day. Doesn’t it seem like just the other day sometimes? So cool that you have made it so far and so well together. God is good. Also very cool that Kris is such a great cook.

Ha ha and you don’t have me anymore! You know I would babysit your terrible-at-sleeping kids so you could go out for your anniversary! I was thinking of you guys yesterday, I can’t believe it’s 11 years already – and I’m only at negative three! (thinking positively here . . .)

Wow! Congratulations to you both! I can’t believe its been 11 years. It makes me feel super old and like Miriam – like I am running behind! Hope you get to go out sometime to celebrate without the kids. Lots of Love xxx
